Shawn sold the shit out of Marty’s offence with a corner bump and a tumble out of the ring. The hairstyles were on point as both men were rocking the mullet. Shawn was wearing a gold jacket and chaps and had the IC title with the Green strap which didn’t quite work for me. They managed to screw with the camera colour settings at one point. I gave Marty the nickname “Spaghetti Jannetty” thanks to his white, stringy attire. So since Roman Reigns still has The Shield music, does that make him the Marty Jannetty of the Shield? No, he can’t be because he ascended to main event status. This included clips from the Rockers tag team, the barbershop window incident and Jannety smashing a mirror over Sherri by accident. Mean Gene did a recap of the feud in a basic video package. Match 2: Shawn Michaels vs Marty Jannetty I usually have high expectations of Steiner matches but I think this might have been the weakest match I’ve seen them in. This was a relatively hot finish to a very disappointing match. It didn’t help that he wasn’t very good at drawing either. In a brain scan recap, Heenan’s machine wasn’t working properly. I always associate Bobby Heenan with that move thanks to his commentary on WCW/nWo Thunder. Scott hit the FRANKENSTEINER for the three count. The Beverlys looked like they were going to hit the Doomsday Device but it was reversed into a Victory Roll by Scott for a two count. I feel like all of Scott’s Belly-to-Belly suplexes are dangerous. Scott Steiner hit a dangerous looking Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex. Heenan took a pop at Rick’s amateur wrestling headgear. There was lots of stalling by the Beverlys. Finkel bailed out as the Steiners hit the ring before he finished the announcements. Match 1: The Beverly Brothers vs The Steiner Brothers Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan were back on commentary for this event so that’s a big thumbs up from me already. Oh well!
